So whats new in the occupational health industry?

2024 marks a significant change in how we view health, safety and wellbeing at work with mental health cases on the rise, the introduction of AI assessing and much more, so here's our top three changes this week in the occupational health industry;

  1. Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML):

  • Predictive Analytics: AI and ML are increasingly used to predict and prevent workplace injuries by analysing data on worker behaviour, environmental conditions, and historical incidents.

  • Personalised Health Programs: AI-driven platforms offer personalised health recommendations and monitoring, helping employees maintain better health and productivity.

2. Mental Health and Well-being Focus:

  • Comprehensive Mental Health Programs: Companies are investing more in mental health resources, including access to therapy, mental health days, and stress management training. Proactive Employee Assistance programs are becoming more popular as the world starts to recognise the importance of early intervention and the launch of a resource dedicated to this by Teesside Health Co (www.teessidehealthco.com/platinum-wellbeing)

  • Work-Life Balance Initiatives: Flexible work arrangements, such as remote work and flexible hours, are being implemented to reduce stress and improve work-life balance.

3. Regulatory Changes and Compliance:

  • Stricter Health Regulations: New regulations focused on occupational health and safety are being introduced, requiring companies to stay compliant with updated standards. (more on this to come from OHTS)

  • Global Standards: As workforces become more global, there is a push towards adopting international health and safety standards.
